I want to do some camping this summer and I am looking for a tent. I need it to be a 4-6 person tent. I don’t want to get anything to expensive. Does anyone have advice on a good tent to purchase?
I have a greenhouse ordered but won’t get here for another week and my plants need to go outside. I have an older dome tent 9×12′ and wondered if that would work temporarily? I am in zone 5b temps between 35-55 and I’ve got braided tropical hibiscus, hardy crepe myrtle, hydrangea trees, windmill palms, english walnut trees, etc. basically borderline zone 6 plants.
The Roman Cavalier 9 is a fully featured family dome tent with the lot including cathedral like ceiling in the main living area for exceptional head room, 3 separate rooms, front awning, No-See-Um mesh and Crossflow and roof ventilation.
I want a freestanding 2-person tent (something like 7×5′) for under 0. I’m hoping for something under 4.5lbs that sets up quickly and easily with 8.5mm+ 7000 series aluminum poles. Tub-style floor preferred, hopefully 1500mm but not a requirement. Vestibule space not a huge concern, nor are amenities like gear lofts, pockets, etc. Needs to be fairly durable since I’ll be using it almost every night for 3 months. Obviously, a breathable tent is preferred and while condensation is a concern, it’s not a huge deal to me. I’ve looked at a lot of tents but still struggling — what would you suggest?
I found a very very nice momma cat who was a stray and pregnant. So I brought her into our home and set up our kids 4 person tent downstairs and gave her litter box, food, water, bed, comforter, a fan ect. She is very pregnant with a very rock hard stomach. Looks like she swallowed a large softball. How many days would you estimate she has before giving birth. How do I know. She is secluded in our finished basement in a 10×12 room of her own. Please help get me answeres.
Be ready to expect still born kittens? Wow what a bold statement. You have truly suceeded in upsetting me. You are basing your comment on what? If a homeless woman is pregnant and living in a shelter does that mean her child will be still born or have complications? What a huge assumption to make. I pray that they are all fine and happy and healthy babies. Does anyone know how much it would be to have a vet look at her and tell me?
Hi, I was planning on going camping with my boyfriend and his little sister this week, but I just realized that since we will be in his backyard, the weight of the tent overnight and throughout the next morning may ruin/kill/yellow their grass. The tent will probably be put down at like 4pm and will be up until 11am. Will this kill their grass? if I set a few sheets down below the tent, will that help or smother the grass further? I really do not want to leave a HUGE yellow spot in their yard, as it is a 4 person tent and is monstrously large. Will the lawn survive, or will it be yellow for weeks to come?
i have a budget of £35 for a 4 or 5 person tent, I’m 15 and I’m just using it for a sleepover in the back yard. there will be 5 of us.
as soon as possible please.
I have to do a project where I have to find the volume of a dome-shaped campinig tent. The base is a hexagon. I have to apply calculus in some way while trying to find the volume. I have the height, diameter, and length of the sides of the tent. I’m not sure where to start though. If anyone has any ideas on where to start please let me know ASAP.
Thanks
I am planning on going camping with a friend this weekend, but neither of us owns a tent. Does anyone know of anywhere in the twin cities, preferably Minneapolis, where we could rent one for a weekend? Just a regular 2 or 4 man camping tent, not a big wedding canopy.
Kangaroo Tent Citys tent testing facility where tents are put under extreme pressure to check their performance in wind and rain. This test shows the New Diamantina Escape Trio Dome, a new three room family dome tent with full length side awnings on both sides, and the new Superior Strength Category 5 Frame system. This tent is being subjected to 100km per hour winds and terrential rainfall. For more information visit www.kangarootentcity.com.au
me and some friends are going to be backpacking in the upper peninsula of Michigan this summer. i’ve gone backpacking before, but never with the dog. does anyone have any tips or ideas that would make this a better trip? i’ve made him a doggie backpack that can hold some of his stuff and mine… but so far thats really it.
since we may be going to isle royale, ive heard there are wolves. should i leave him in the tent with me at night? or leave him tied out? i know to keep him leashed when walking and basic rules of picking up after him etc. but im blank on the rest.
anyhting ya got will help out.
thanks
Does anyone know of a 4-person tent (will need space for 1-2 adults and one child plus room for a couple of duffel bags) where you can still use the windows with the rainfly up (not just open up the doors for ventilation) and a vestibule area for taking off shoes and the like? I’ll be using it for car camping. So, weight is not an issue. However, ease of set-up is important. I need something that I can set up by myself.
I will be doing most of my camping in the Pacific Northwest. Using a rainfly here is pretty much mandatory year-round. IIRC one of my old tents had functional windows even with the rainfly up… It would be nice to have something that ventilates well for those warmer summer days when the sun gets up long before its occupants. But, something that will help to keep me from getting too chilly on late autumn campouts. I have a good quality sleeping bag rated to a lower temp. But, every bit helps when it starts to get chilly. So, maybe something with a lower profile?
