I did not go into Walmart to buy a tent, but buy one I did. At bucks and small and light enough to fit into my motorcycle bag, I just couldn’t say no. I have purchased this, at least initially, for my BOB (Bug Out Bag), but after setting it up I can see myself using this a bit more often than just outside an emergency situation. I was a little put off by the advert on the bag that says “Great for outdoor play”, but to be fair this tent IS targeted towards children. That said, it is not a toy. I have concerns about the poles. Who wouldnt? If the elastic inside snaps or you snap even a single section the entire thing is going to be useless. I might sew a nylon loop into the center of each wall in case that happens, so that I can rope it to nearby trees (again, this is an emergency preparedness mindset). But given these concerns, you should be handling the poles with care and not be in a rush to put it together. Going slowly for my first time setting it up, it took less than ten minutes. There’s no reason to rush that. I’ll annotate updates once I’ve had some field time with it. But my initial impression is that this is probably the best I’ve ever spent.
