The rainfly completely covers the mesh areas, giving it a good amount of rain protection. On Amazon, it advertises a trail weight of 6 lbs 15 ounces. In my opinion, this is a perfect tent for me. For the most part, I will be using it solo. But every once in a while, my girlfriend will come camping with me and I guarantee this tent will comfortably fit us both. It’s extremely roomy for my 6′ 2″ body and there’s more than enough room for another person PLUS backpacks. When the rainfly is on, the opening flaps stretch out maybe two feet, giving you even MORE room for other junk you don’t want to get wet. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this tent.
